My name is Russell, and I own both Austin ZuZu locations. Forgive me if I ramble a little bit, I'm a little new to the whole blogging concept.

Today, I wanted to tell y'all about a fundraiser we will be hosting at ZuZu Bee Caves on Saturday, June 26th. It's for the NTFA South-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, in honor of a dear family friend, Chris Padden. We will be selling tickets for $20, which'll get you a taco or quesadilla platter, chips, salsa, & queso, and 2 drinks. We'll also be raffling off a Garrett Gilbert signed football.

Here's a little history:

I have some really great friends who live in Dallas and have been a part of my life for the last 29 years. This family: Brian, Marilyn. Kevin, Greg and Chris Padden were very supportive of my family and I.

Three years ago their oldest son Kevin lost his life in a tragic accident. Chris, their middle son, lost his sight at birth and now has lost the use of his kidney and is in need of a kidney transplant. He is on the list to receive a new kidney, but it could take as much as a year or so to get the call and he is currently on dialysis. As we all know, this all is very expensive, but as a community we can help this very deserving individual and family.

We hope you can come join us on June 26th for some great food and fellowship and to support this wonderful family and cause!

Best,

Last week we were given honorable mention in the Austin Chronicle's Best of Austin Restaurant Poll for Mexican (Not Tex-Mex) Restaurants. We really do appreciate everyone that voted for us.

I think people underestimate what a big deal it is. Austin has so many locally-owned restaurants (especially Mexican restaurants) that to be mentioned with legends like Fonda San Miguel and Manuel's is a great honor, and we wouldn't have it without you, our loyal customers.

Thanks again,

We've had our marketing folks working on our new website and menus for over six months, but boy was it worth the wait! We're super excited about moving forward with our new look, but wanted to reassure you, our loyal followers, that our food is still the same, good old FAMOUSLY FRESH FOOD that you fell in love with us for. Let us know what you think of the new site and menus by leaving us comments below!

Some of the notable improvements is an easier to read color scheme, an easier to use menu section, and a better, more informative catering section. Also check out the pics section, and (coming soon) buy your ZUZU GEAR here!

A big thanks to the team at Monazu Creative Group for getting all this done (and The Print Shoppe for producing all the printed materials), and an even bigger thanks to our customers for supporting us through our SIXTEENTH year in Austin!

Stay tuned for updates, news, and just random interesting stuff on this blog.

Regards,
